We found out just how far this engagement could go when Love Island’s Laura Anderson attended a Help to Buy event in St Pauls in October. Laura, who used to share her space with her fellow housemates during the summer months, was looking to put roots down in the capital.
The runner-up of the hit ITV dating show was this time looking for an, ahem ‘new love pad’ and The River Gardens in Greenwich, by Bellway Homes caught her eye.
Laura attended the Help to Buy event run by the national housebuilder when it released 350 exclusive new plots across London in October.
Laura said: “I am looking to move back to the UK, and London is the place to be. Help to Buy London is a great initiative for young professionals and I thought it would be good to see what developments Bellway has to offer. With Help to Buy London I can get something a bit bigger than the one bedroom I was expecting.
“It’ll be good to get my own space where I can have some me time, but I can’t wait to invite some of my old Love Islanders back for drinks and a catch-up, as soon as I get settled.”
As soon as Laura popped up videos of herself at the event and an image that Oracle had already set up for her, the ‘likes’ kept on coming. Within a day Laura had 17,717 likes on her photo and 161 comments with thousands more viewing her ‘story’, a series of photos showing off the development brochure and speaking to the camera at the event.
